A Journey to Kunming

Kunming is the capital city of the Yunan province. A relaxed city, Kunming is famous for its comfortable weather conditions all year round, their relatively western way of life, pagodas, old streets and marketplaces. Endowed with a remarkable traditional folk culture and diversity of culture, this city is celebrated as the 'City of Eternal Spring'. While public buses and taxis are the two main means of transportation in the city, one can also hire bicycles from hotels to move around to capture the sights and sounds of this great, lost city. One of the attractions of this city is the Stone Forest. A walk through this forest will have visitors marvelling at the natural stone masterpieces and the intricate formations. The extraordinary and steep landscape creates countless labyrinthine panorama that is both intoxicating and memorable. Photos: Syed Zakir Hossain
