Life is a Gift (But it Depends)

Chintito

[Italicised quotes have been taken from the Internet]
Before you think of saying an unkind word Think of someone who can't speak.
Today before you think of saying an unkind word about your 'undisputed' leader - Think of the times you behaved like a sycophant and shoved away those who could speak the truth.

Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Today before you complain about the taste of your food in the jail - Think of someone who still has almost nothing to eat because of your misdeeds while in power.

Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out for a companion.
Today before you complain about your husband or your wife (as political leaders of a party or political beneficiaries, in custody or not) - Think of someone who's crying out for a companion lost due to your whims.

Before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to heaven.
Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who has lost the morality, the willpower and the dignity to complain due to your politics.

Before you grumble about your children - Think of someone who desires children but they're barren.
Today before you grumble about your children - Think of someone, who can't bear to see them sleeping on a barren floor, although visitors are allowed once every fortnight.

Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn't clean or sweep - Think of the people who are living in the streets.
Today before you argue about your dirty House, someone didn't clean or sweep - Think of the people, the so-called utsho of all power, who in the first place made it possible for you to make it to that abode.

Before whining about the distance you drive - Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.
Today before whining about the distance you drive at Taka 67- Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet to earn the same amount. Such is the disparity created by you among the voters.

When you are tired and complain about your job Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.
Today when you are tired and complain about your job as a reformist (you only know what that means) Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job. In a true democracy they will, even if it be as conformists.

Before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another - Remember that not one of us are without wrong doings.
Today before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another just because you have an advantageous position - Remember that not one of us is without wrong doings, past and present; the future is foretold only by the prophets.

When depressing thoughts seem to get you down Put a smile on your face and be thankful you're alive and still around.
Today when depressing thoughts seem to get you down Put a smile on your face [some of you are doing that so well in and out of remand], and be thankful you're alive and still around to hope to one day get out. People pray by that time you will be toothless, and with a different kind of a grin.

Life is a gift, live it, enjoy it, celebrate it, and fulfill it.
Even without that piece of advice, you have not done badly at all. But next time please try to do it in the company of those on whose back you rode or hope to ride, not at their sake.

Remember as you languish in some lonely corner of a cold room, or shudder in loneliness in a crowd (for the times are like that), enjoying life, celebrating life and fulfilling life apparently is not necessarily synonymous to living it and enjoying it as a gift. Enjoyment, celebration and fulfillment can seemingly be achieved with money, even with that which is ill-gotten, BUT to be able to accept life as a gift from Allah Almighty, you need to become a human being. Many of you are a disgrace to that species, endangered as it is.

(P.S. I wonder if the SWM is available in our jails)
