On the Edge of the Sundarbans

At the edge of the forests of the Sundarbans lies a remote village called Dhangmari. Like many other small communities, the 5000 or so residents of Dhangmari, are trying to recuperate from the devastating cyclone SIDR. But there is something unique about this tranquil village surrounded by spectacular natural scenery that sets it apart from all the others. The people seem more content and in touch with nature. The village's only source of drinking water is a far off tube well, which is why it makes so much sense to capture the bountiful drops of rain in huge earthen motkas (pots). It is not easy to pick up the pieces and start again but it is a process that most Bangladeshis consider to be a part of life.
