Eid literally means Festival. Eid ul Fitr marks the end of Ramadan -- a month of fasting and abstinence -- and it is a time to rejoice. Eid is about revisiting religious vows standing shoulder to shoulder with fellow worshippers at the Eidgah. Eid is about companionship, good food and new clothes. It is about counting our blessings and rejoicing in our common humanity.
