Roaming Free

Julfikar Ali Manik

Our very own little Africa is hidden away just 50 kilometres from Cox's Bazar. From being a deer-breeding centre in the 1960s, Dulahazara is today Bangladesh's only safari park. Wild and domesticated elephants, lions, tigers, bears, deer and monkeys, as well as several species of birds and reptiles roam free over the 600-hectare grounds covered in a large variety of trees and plants as well as some artificial lakes, attracting some 1,00,000 visitors every year.
