Fathers: Classified!

A father is someone whom we can always depend on to help us out in the time of need. Whenever we are short of cash, when we get into trouble in school; no matter what the problem is, we can be sure that our fathers will know how to deal with it. People say that a mother is the heart and soul of a family, but I disagree. I mean, think of how our lives would be without our fathers. Mothers tend to be more serious about things, and they tend to be the ones who are always telling us to do what we don't feel like doing, like studying or cleaning our rooms. A father on the other hand, is the one who spoils us with little treats, and lots of love, and also sometimes saves us from getting into trouble with our mothers.

I am not saying that mothers are bad, but compared to them, our fathers are more fun. A mother is there to love you and scold you, and to keep a balance in life. A father is there to love you, to help you defy your mother, and to be the biggest child in the house!

Most fathers fit the above description, but not all fathers. Let us now take a look at some celebrity fathers, and try to classify our fathers according to each celebrity's description. This will help us gain a better insight into what our fathers are really like.

1) Homer Simpson (The Simpsons) If your father is like this father, then your life must be a big roller coaster ride. Homer is the kind of father who has no idea what is going on in his children's life, but just comes into their lives from time to time, in order to mess it up. He tries to teach his children to do the exact opposite of what their mother teaches them. However, he is a very loving father, and he does his best to make their lives fun-filled.

2) Sean Finnerty (Grounded for Life) This father is more mature than then last category of fathers. Shaun takes an active interest in his children's life, and has a fair idea of what is going on, however, he does tend to be slightly imaginative. For example, when his daughter goes to a party, he manages to think up a situation, (with excessive help from his brother Eddie) which makes him totally sure that his daughter will indulge in forbidden activities such as drinking or smoking, and this tends to make him go haywire. He is slightly conservative, since he does not really like the fact that his daughter dates, or any of the boys that she does date. He and his daughter are constantly fighting with each other, but at the end of the day, he is the best father that they could have wished for.

3) Martin Crane (Frasier) In a family, one can always see that the son is closer to the mother, and the daughter is closer to the father. This brings about the famous "Father-Son Feud" which takes place in every family which comprises of these two elements. Now one of the main reasons for this feud is that they are jealous of each other. Now Martin is the sort of father, who was really good at everything that he did, and still is for that matter. He wants his children to become really adept at whatever they plan to do and he wants them to be the best. His attitude towards them might just be slightly pushy, but overall, his intentions are well meant. However, the child is not always able to achieve the goals that his/her father sets for them, and this tends to make their father go over the edge. Thus he tends to put them down, and keeps reminding them that they are "good-for-nothing" and are not fit to live on this planet! This causes a lot of anger and resentment to be radiated towards him from his children, because they become jealous of their father, and this leads to the birth of… THE FEUD!

4) Hal Wilkerson (Malcolm in the Middle) This father is one of the weirdest fathers you can get. He spends most of his time thinking about something, thought no one has any clue what he thinks about, and when he is not thinking, he is being bullied by his wife. He has very little to do with his family, and hardly ever knows what is going on and where. His wife runs the whole family, and he quietly agrees with every decision she makes, though that may also be because he is scared of her. The fact that he somehow manages to let his children know that he loves them, and is there for them, is a miracle, as well as a mystery, since it has not yet been found out how. He is least bothered about what goes on around him, and is overall a misfit in the family.

Well, here we get a glimpse of various types of fathers, thought not all of them. Some fathers may be a mix of the above fathers, and some fathers might be just like them. However, no matter what, dads will be dads, and we, as their children, will always love them, and would like them to know that we appreciate everything that they do for us, as much as we appreciate our mothers, and we just can not imagine life without them around. So on this note; I would like to end by wishing all the fathers out there, a very Happy Father's Day.

Looking to make history for Bangladesh

If you are a strong supporter of Bangladesh Cricket team, then you have to be a very patient and strong hearted guy, as I am. And If you are patient, them you may be very much upset, because of the losses, that our cricket team experiences, frequently. And, if you are not a strong hearted person, then you may collapse your heart, just after watching the cricket match in which Bangladesh will participate (just yoking). In the cricket history. Bangladesh is also famed as the 'Tigers' after their thrilling win against Pakistan at the Oval, in England, in the 1999 World Cup, which was organized thy ICC International Cricket Council).

After that win against Pakistan, Bangladeshi players were over the moon for joy. ICC, thought that it's the time for the cubs to take a step a head and try to fight out the 'big boys' of international cricket and prove the whole world that hey are really the 'tigers'. And in the mid of the year 2000. Bangladesh got their test status and after that there had been no success for the Bangladesh cricket team except a few days earlier, Bangladesh took a heart throbbing victory over Zimbabwe National Cricket team under the captaincy of newly appointed leader of Bangladesh National Cricket team, Habibul Basshar and newly appointed coach Dave Whatmore has shown a bright future you the cricket of Bangladesh to the spectators. Under Whatmore's coaching, Bangladesh almost won a test match against Pakistan, at Multan, in the year 2003. But is was the "Sultan of Multon, "Injamam-Ill- Haque becme a solid wall between the victory and Bangladesh. It was a nail biting match, and I had almost cried for sorrow by watching the result of the match after a fighting spirit shown by Bangladeshi players. And Mohammad Rafique also showed a huge sportsmanship while by getting a chance of running Umar Gul out in the follow-through of Raifique while Gul left his crease lonely. And, I think that if Rafique had been a little bit merciless, then Bangladesh might have won that match.

Mowadays, cricket have become more than just a game, it is now like an war going on between two countries without heavy artilleries. And, the coach being the comrade of the team.

One of my best friends, is a cricket player in our school cricket team and let us indicate him as K. We used to play cricket with soft balls, from the age of 6 years and them we were reading at class 3 or 2 probably. X is the student of Y, school and is a very good cricket player and he also takes cricket coaching from the farmer cricket player and wicket keeper of Bangladesh Cricket team. X is now reading in class 'standard 8'. A cricket player must be gutsy, positive, confident, brave-hearted and concentrative; a chicken hearted person cann't be a good cricket player. And, X have all those characteristics, which a cricket player must contain. X, has on ambition to play for the Bangladesh National Cricket team and to make our country an undefeatable one. I belive that he has the potential and intelligence to do so in the future for our country, but he is not getting any chance to prove his talent. Once, he played a friendly match with as in the streets on a strike day and in that match of 10 overs, he scored a century and remained unbeaten on 137* runs. A player of opposition team commented him by felling yealous that "Tor shabe practice Britha Iaibo". These type of words can really hurt a person's mind, but he is a concentrative person and didn't get upset after those words. He often tells me that when he watches the Bangladeshi batsmen in the television getting out of the field each one after another then a strange type of inspiration comes from the deep of his heart and tells him that "you can do it, you can raise the future of Bangladesh Cricket. "There are may more young boys like X, who have their confidence level pumped up of warn blood and who have got the talent, but are not able to prove themselves or they do not get any chance for political reasons. And, they are looking forward to make history for Bangladesh Cricket.

The day from which politics will be now longer related with cricket in Bangladesh, from that particular day, the level mark of Bangladesh Cricket will begin to rise higher and higher with out knowing any boundaries. And let's pray altogether to the God, that day comes very sooner. And best of lucks to the Bangladesh Cricket Team for 2007 World Cup, in West Indies.

To tell the weather, Go to your back door and look for the dog.
If the dog is at the door and he is wet, it's probably raining.
But if the dog is standing there really soaking wet, it is probably
raining really hard.
If the dog's fur looks like it's been rubbed the wrong way, it's
probably windy.
If the dog has snow on his back, it's probably snowing.
Of course, to be able to tell the weather like this, you have to leave
the dog outside all the time, especially if you expect bad weather.

Once there was a millionaire who collected live alligators. He kept them
in the pool in the back of his mansion.
The millionaire also had a beautiful daughter who was single. One day he
decided to throw a huge party, during which he announced: "My dear
guests, I have a proposition to every man here. I will give $1 million
or my daughter to the man that can swim across this pool full of
alligators and emerge unharmed!"
As soon as he finished his last word there was the sound of a large
splash! There was one guy in the pool swimming with all his might, the
crowd cheered him on as he kept stroking. Finally, he made it to the
other side unharmed.
The millionaire was impressed. He said, "My boy, that was incredible!
Fantastic! I didn't think it could be done! Well, I must keep my end of
the bargain, which do you want my daughter or the $1 million?"
The guy replied, "Listen, I don't want your money, and I don't want your
daughter! I just want the guy who pushed me in that water!"
