Working in silence for fellow beings

The cover story of this issue is about a silent dedicated worker in her early forties who has made it her goal in life to look after the paralysed and disabled persons in the society who need treatment and support. Her vision has made it possible for her to go beyond routine works and create a wonderful home for her patients. The section on She features a medical doctor in her late seventies who still at this age is attending her patients and performing operations.

In order to get away from the stress and noise of city life many of us go to the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Here are two stories about the wonderful work that an art school and a library are doing in shaping the minds of the young in Rangamati and Khagrachhari.

For entertainment, we present our readers with a popular folktale of Bangladesh, the story of a tiger and a fox. The folk tales of Bangladesh are the inherent treasures of the soil. In these tales there are human characters as well as the animals, particularly the tiger, the fox, the crocodile, the monkey and the snake. We hope our readers would enjoy the humour of the tale.
