Editor's Note

Keeping the folk culture alive

The Star Insight is constantly on a quest to find the unsung heroes of Bangladesh. In the process of this search, we have come across a number of people from different walks of life who regardless of any public recognition have been doing outstanding work in their respective fields. The main reason for them to be unknown is that their work has not been acknowledged by the media to the extent they deserve. One such hero is Shambhu Acharya who represents the ninth generation of 'patuas' (Scroll painters) from Bikrampur, Munshiganj. Although Shambhu Acharya is now known among the art connoisseurs in the capital city of Dhaka as a brilliant 'patua', he is still unknown to most of the people living outside Dhaka. Shambhu, carrying on a near-extinct age-old popular art form, deserves our recognition.

We thank our contributors to the different sections of the magazine for joining us in realizing Star Insight's motto 'Know Bangladesh Better'.

We are, indeed, very glad to receive quite a few answers to the Crossword and Do you Know questions soon after an issue is published. Not being a winner does not mean that all the answers are wrong. In fact, most of the Crossword answers have been correct. Many have missed being winners only narrowly. Don't give up. Keep sending us your answers and be a winner.
