What Heals?

There is no shortage of self proclaimed healers in the world. For every mainstream doctor you will be able to find an 'alternative' practitioner, someone who promises to cure you with, say, his special herbs and shrubs. The market for medicine has always been big. The thing that people want mostly, is, after all, the Holy Grail of good health. As long as there are sick people, it is a safe bet that there will be eccentric, colorful characters offering a remedy from their garden of cures.

It is not within our scope to comment on the actual merits or demerits of a practitioner’s efforts, but in this issue we present you with a story of a very interesting guy. He is known affectionately as Afaz 'Pagla', or 'Crazy Afaz'. He grows all sorts of trees and plants on his land and sells them for their medicinal properties. Many people swear by his products. Afaz seems very sincere in his efforts. As far as his story goes, whether or not he truly has made any serious contributions to medicine is beside the point. What matters here is that he is a man who has taken initiative, and has affected many lives
