Evergreen! Youthful! A twinkle in his eyes! Dr. Nawajesh Ahmed is someone who epitomized these qualities. He never failed to make us laugh; be it in the midst of serious debates over the quality of a photograph or tales of his genetically engineered hybrid rice.

Dr. Nawajesh has been a true friend to "Celebrating Life Contest". When the contest started its journey in 2008, Standard Chartered and Daily Star were very fortunate to get valuable contribution from an internationally acclaimed photographer of his stature. His guidance and in-depth critique have been instrumental in bringing out the best from the photography contests. We feel privileged to have had Dr. Nawajesh Ahmed as a jury for Celebrating Life in 2008 & 2009.

Personally, I feel enriched from my few interactions with Nawajesh bhai. I have not come across anyone who was so passionate about his work or had such zest for life. He had exceptional human qualities - perhaps that is why he had the rare fortune to be the Prince Charming to a real princess!
