Mahfuzul Hasan Bhuiyan, Dhaka

The photograph was taken on a sunny morning in July 2008. The photographer was in his car traveling to Dhamrai, when he noticed the woman in the red sari. In Bangladesh, the post-harvest season has always been a time for festivities. The photographer felt that the field covered in bright golden paddy, and the woman in her strikingly red sari was a perfect embodiment of the festive spirit of the times.
Mahfuzul Hasan Bhuiyan was born in Bangladesh and took up photography in 1995. After completing his Bachelors in Architecture fromthe Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), he started his own consulting firm. His main interests lie in pictorial photography, nature photography and exploring social issues. His work has been published in many prestigious national and international publications. Currently, He is the Vice-president of Bangladesh Photographic Society and FIAP (International Federation of Photographic Art) Liaison officer for Bangladesh.
