Orientation at Stamford University Bangladesh

Stamford University Bangladesh (SUB) organized a Freshers Orientation programme on November 6 for the newly enrolled students of the Fall 2006. The program was held at the China Bangladesh Friendship Hall. The event was arranged in a festive mood, with faculty members, current students and SUB alumnus all coming together to make the occasion a success.
Vice Chancellor and President of SUB M. A. Hannan Feroz delivered his welcome speech to the newcomers.
In his speech the VC assured the newcomers of quality and competitive education.
"You have joined an academic institution that not only meets the standards of today's advancing workplace but also exceeds them." He said that SUB would help its students with everything necessary to reach their goal. "Moving teaching excellence from good to great is the vision of Stamford University." he added.
Register of SUB Prof. Hassan Towfiq , Advisor Business Administration Prof. Jamal Uddin Ahmed, Dean of Social Science faculty Dr. A.T.M Zahurul Haq, Dean of Science faculty Prof. Abdul Gani, Dean Law faculty Dr. Shah Alam and other faculty members also spoke at the event.
The chief guest of the event was director of American center Jonathan Cebra.
IUB:The journey continues

The new batch of Master of Social Science in Development Studies (MSS in DS) started its journey in the middle of 2006 and its orientation program was held on the 16th of October 2006 at Baridhara premises.
The program was chaired by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Bazlul Mobin Chowdhury. The Pro- Vice Chancellor Prof. Omar Rahman, Prof. Mufakharul Islam, Director of School of Liberal Arts and Science, faculties from IUB and eminent scholars like Dr. Paul Michael Thompson and Dr. Parvin Sultana, Senior Research Fellow, Flood Hazard Research Center, Middlesex University, UK; Brig. Gen Sakhawat Hussain (Retd), Free Lance Researcher, Mr. Tim Steel, Program Director of Mystic People Foundation and Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, Pro-VC of BRAC University also graced the orientation program.
Course Coordinator Dr. Tanvir A. Khan underlined the significance of Development Studies for furthering the socio-economic conditions of a developing country like Bangladesh and also recollected the brilliance of Dr. Mohammad Yunus in this field through the activities of Grameen Bank.
Prof. Mufakharul Islam enriched the program with his welcome address. The Vice Chancellor Prof. Bazlul Mobin Chowdhury, with his speech enlightened the practicability and the demand for Development Studies in the context of Bangladesh among the students. He added that to reform the socio-economic condition of the country, Development Studies has to be implemented in an organized manner for which Development Studies is a pre-requisite.
As the concluding part of the program Prof. Omar Rahman, Pro VC of IUB offered the formal vote of thanks.
DU to award Prof Dr Mohammad Yunus
Dhaka University will award this year's Nobel Peace prize winner Prof.Dr.Mohammad Yunus with Honorary Doctorate of Laws Degree. He will be presented with this award at the 43rd convocation ceremony on 24th December 2006. He will also be the keynote speaker at the convocation ceremony.
Orientation at ADUST
Atish Dipankar University of Science & Technology (ADUST) arranged an Orientation Program for the students of Fall-06 Semester at 4.00 pm on 04 November, 2006 at the University campus. Pro-Vicechancellor, Teachers, Registerar, and newly admitted students were present in the program.
Orientation at Manarat International University
The Orientation Program of Summer & Fall-2006 of Manarat International University was held at 3 pm. on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at the university campus.
Professor A.N.M.A Zaher, Chairman, Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd. graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
