Be a KUETi@n..........

Mostafezur Rahman

Hello friends, guess all of you had a nice time during Eid, isn't it? But what about our young friends who have just passed the HSC hurdle!! Guess it wasn't so enjoyable Eid for them as they are so close to their destination, just one barrier to cross. Yep friends, I am talking about the upcoming admission test, you are scared, aren't you? Don't be so, it's more like a mind game actually. If you are confident, success is not going to be a problem, I guarantee!!

So fellows, I am sure you already have become familiar with particulars about Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (assuming that you have read the profile of KUET in Star Campus). Let me review a bit, it is one of the best Engineering Universities in Bangladesh with excellent teaching staff, Lab facilities, library, accommodation etc. And above all its completely free from session jam, Can you believe it?? You better believe it.

Now hit the road guys, because admission test is only few days from now (December 2nd next). Guess you have prepared hard/well for it. Just keep your cool, show what you have got and I think that will do the trick! Each and every year many students come here for admission test and for most of them it's the first time outing in Khulna. So, in most cases they find difficulties in various phases mostly regarding accommodation and transportation. I am trying to help you guys a bit about it.

Let me say you can arrange your accommodation in two ways unless you have some relatives in here. Firstly, you can choose the university itself for accommodation. Don't get me wrong, KUET is not going provide this for guests, this is quite understandable as there are so many candidates. So, the possible way left is to take advantage of the Student Hall facility. There are five dorms for male students and one for girls. All you have to do is contact your senior, known people in here and think that your problem is solved. If you don't know someone around here no problem, feel free to call us, lets see what we can do for you..

The other option is to take the hotel accommodation. There are quite a few nice hotels in Khulna. I think it would be better to contact with them a few days before the date of your arrival, because it's the tourist season and there may be a question of availability. We are really impatient to welcome you to this lovely Campus. Wish you all the best form our heart and May GOD be with you.

For any kind of info and help, feel free to contact…

In Search of a Campus

Tazrian Mahfuz

Campus to me meant sprawling green with tree laden malls and students relaxing in the shadow of towering trees and discussing their assignments or case studies. The campus would have playgrounds where students would play different type of outdoor games. I always dreamt that one day I will be spending my university days in such an ideal surrounding. However when I got myself admitted in the prestigious East-West University my dream campus was just not there. Initially though it saddened me, soon I got to come into terms with the reality that for me and my friends campus meant few tall buildings and nice cozy air-conditioned class rooms, library, computer labs and very friendly teachers. Different student clubs kept us busy with various types of extra curricular activities. Soon I began to realize I have to substitute my dream campus with what we have at the East West. Halfway through my course at East West the big news was broken to us. Soon we would be having our own dream campus at Aftabnagar next to the Rampura BTV station.

The saddest part of the news was that by the time the present tall building campus moves to a real campus I will finish my graduation. The next generation students would be more lucky than us. I am sure the university authorities will have occasions when we will be able to visit our dream campus of malls and sprawling greens. I wish all private university campuses were ideal dream campuses.

The writer is a Student of East West University
