Case study-1

Sakibul hasan a fresh engineer (passed B.Sc engineering recently) of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) is worried, because he has no 'mama'. Now a days 'mama' is a very familiar word for getting a job. There is a proverb in our country 'if there is no mama, there is no job'. That time Sakibul decide to meet the elder brothers who passed from his university. During campus life many elder brothers were known to him, but now all of those are not in campus. Sakibul heard many of them are in many potential job. He decided to communicate with them. But how would he communicate with them?

Case study-2

Anwar Hossain was a student of CUET. He passed 10 years ago. Now he is doing a job in an established construction company. Two engineers were needed for his project. He decided to take engineers who passed from his institution. But how would he find them?

These two problems were solved by some students of CUET 1999 batch. They created a website named www.mycuet.com, where all CUET student can create their own profile. Students who passed years ago can also submit their profile in that website. In the profile they can mention their address, cell/phone no, permanent address, occupation and other details. Besides, daily news about CUET also can be read in that website. There is also scope to chat.

The website was launched on 26 March in 2006. By now nearly 600 students have submitted their profile and day by day the number is increasing. Many students who passed out from CUET have already created their profile. Some of them are now employed in good jobs in the country and some are doing in other country.

For example, Mahbubul Islam Chowdhury, a student of 1988 batch doing a job as a Product (HW/SW) Engineer Saturn Electronics and Engineering Inc. Auburn Hills, Michigan 48326 USA.
