Followup on NLDS 2007

On the 9th of November, Aiesec's National Leadership Development (NLDS) took place at Manikganj Proshika HDRC trust. Here is a follow up piece on the story we published, that did not make it to the main story last week.

“Up till now, NLDS was being held by Aiesec Bangladesh. But for the first time we decided to hold a bidding for the organizing responsibility and take the initiative in our own hands. It was NSU among the 4 Universities that won and formed a group of 17 members for the OC team in the end.” Says Neda Shakiba. She also adds “ We formed groups to deal with the press and the sponsors. It's a matter of delight that we actually managed to get through to 11 newspapers and 3 TV channels for the coverage!” Their enthusiasm reached screaming crescendo when GMG Airlines came forward to sponsor Aiesec with a whooping 8 lakh, 15 thousand 150 taka. “Mr Shahab Sattar MD of GMG Airlines was very helpful and keen to take part in this event who came to Manikganj with a 25 member team on the 3rd day, and was pleased to see our enthusiasm and excitement”. Adds Neda.

The Delegates had an opening ceremony in Fantasy Kingdom before they pitched their heads into their training sessions seminar. “ On behalf of the whole Aiesec team, I would like to thank the 20 Alumni who took the time to come and share their experience giving the delegates the motivation they needed. And last but not the least, we are thankful to Balam Bhai, Mehrab, Nemesis Topu and Dj Shezzane to add such exciting colour to NLDS with their mind-blowing performances.”
