A colourful cultural programme was staged recently by the Division of Student Activities of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) to extend very a warm welcome to the newly admitted students of Spring 2007 semester. The programme known as the Annual Cultural Festival consisted of songs, instrumental music, dance, fashion show and a short sequence of drama.

The highlight of the programme was - the entire show was presented and performed by IUB students. Though they were not professional singers or performers, the participants did very well to get applause from the cheering audience. Songs rendered by Nigarnoon, Farahnaz, Zinat, Sumaiya, Munir, Hena and Nimu drew appreciation from the audience. Dola, Monir and Mila charmed the audience by their dance, while Shimum and Apurbo acted well in the short sequence of the drama "Rokter Fashal." In the Fashion show Nabila, Jara, Mahmood and others did their best. IUB Vice Chancellor Prof. Bazlul Mobin Chowdhury and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Omar Rahman welcomed the new students and encouraged the performers.
