By unveiling the plaque, Professor Dr. Iajuddin Ahmed started the inauguration ceremony.

In the speech, President Iajuddin Ahmed called upon the authorities of both private and public universities to come forward with state-of-the-art curricula to impart quality and time-worthy education to the students. He said that educational institutions at all ages, are regarded as the sacred and stately place of the country, where nation's hopes and aspirations get expressed and find shape. He hoped university authorities both private and public would understand the tune of the society and would uphold the image of the esteemed institutions.

While talking about the rush of huge number of students for higher studies, Professor Iajuddin Ahmed indicated it as an unhealthy competition among the students who are eagerly waiting for admission in the universities. He recommended for creating the needs for opening more rooms for higher learning at tertiary level to face the growing pressure of the students.

He also praised AUST for maintaining a high academic standard by its excellent faculty and hoped that the modern facilities developed at the new campus would give the university further impetus to develop it into a higher seat of learning.

In the speech, Professor Dr. M. Anwar Hossain, Vice Chancellor of AUST has highlighted the success story of AUST. He also opted for higher quality education in the private sector. He said, “In many developed countries, excellence in higher education came also through private universities. What we need at this early stage is quality assurance in the private universities.”

In the speech, Mr. Kazi Rafiqul Alam, President & CE, Dhaka Ahsania Mission said that within a span of 13 years the AUST has succeeded in creating an image of providing high quality education and maintaining a high academic standard.

“Today we feel proud that Dhaka Ahsania Mission has been able to set up AUST after the name of great educationist Hazrat Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah (R.A.) and now we have a full fledged campus of our own.

This is indeed a great achievement for AUST”, he added. In the speech, Professor Kazi Fazlur Rahman, President, AUST said, “The journey that started thirteen years ago has reached a major milestone. The development of the permanent campus was carried out simultaneously with an uninterrupted pursuit of the academic activities of the AUST. This is possible only because of the commitment and dedication of the all concerned.”

In his speech, Professor Dr. AMM Safiullah, Vice Chancellor, BUET said, “In the present world, scientific knowledge alongwith technical skill and engineering has become a determining factor in economic success of a country. It is the responsibility of Science and Technology institutions to create a congenial approach where this base can be established. AUST has been trying to shoulder this responsibility and today's ceremony is a success story in this path and can be marked as a memorable day in the history of private universities in Bangladesh.”
