A.K. Ratan and M.A.Kaioum

We have to go back about eight years to know about the foundation of Swajon. The insufficiency of blood and eventual death of the mother of Mostafizur Rahman Ritu made him build this organization. He, a former student of Rajshahi University realized the matter of establishing a voluntary blood donation organization while he suffered much to collect blood to save his mother's life. He organized a voluntary blood donation association with the help of Rajshahi University (RU) authority at RU campus titled “Eso Mora hoi Swajon, Thakbe Moder Rokter Bondhon”. The organization was formed on Oct.12, 2002.

The main objective of Swajon is to provide blood without pay on emergency. Swajon has a full fledged executive committee in RU to fulfill their objective. There is a central executive committee monitoring the works of residential hall committee. They also have an advisory committee to advise their ongoing works.

There are several purposes of Swajon. These are to influence others to donate blood, to offer blood free of coast to the people and to create awareness about general and serious diseases.
