JATRI launched to promote investigative journalism

Star Campus Desk

A TRAINING and research wing of the BRAC University's Institute of Governance Studies (IGS) launched a new programme named Journalism Training and Research Initiative (JATRI). JATRI aims to develop and promote investigative journalism in Bangladesh through world-class training and research. The Minister for Information and Cultural Affairs Abul Kalam Azad was the Chief Guest during the launch. He said JATRI would help journalists to become better at their skills that would ultimately strengthen the democracy in the country. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is funding JATRI as part of its Promoting Governance, Accountability, Transparency and Integrity (PROGATI) project.
