Hridoy Khan's Debut Solo Album 'Bolna'

Nazmus Saquib

HE made his entry in the music fraternity as a composer just a year ago with his featured album 'Hridoy Mix'. The album was a huge success for him and the song 'Chai na meye' earned Hridoy much acclaim among the music enthusiasts. Grandson of Late maestro Mainul Islam Khan, and son of noted jingle artiste Ripon Khan, Hridoy Khan is only 18 years old now and will appear for his O level examination soon. But the stardom and recognition which this 'little genius' has already achieved from a large number of people has been overwhelming. So the high expectations from his debut solo album is clearly understandable. Released from the Banner of 'Laser Vision', the debut solo album of Hridoy Khan 'Bolna' is out now in the market. The album contains nine tracks, which are penned by Gunjon Chowdhury, Sofiq Tuhin, Sushmita Bishwas, Tani and Rajib and tuned and composed by Hridoy himself.
The humming of Nijhu takes the songs to a new height altogether. His numbers are melodious and romantic. The lyrics are quite simple but they do make a long lasting impact and that's the high point of the songs. Few of the numbers are melancholic and are bound to create an impact on the listeners' mind. All of them are well composed which makes you fall in love all over again. All in all, 'Bolna' by Hridoy Khan shows the talent of this composer .

Course on Teaching Skills for future teachers at SPEED

A small group of enthusiastic individuals determined to build their career in teaching have started a Pre-Service Course in Teaching Skills from August 16, 2009 in the SPEED Corporate Office in Mohakhali. Syeda Madiha Murshed, Deputy Managing Director of ASCENT Group and Executive Director of SPEED inaugurated the launching ceremony of this course.

SPEED is a sister concern of the English medium school, Scholastica. Since its inception in November 2005, SPEED has provided high-quality training programmes for teachers and corporate professionals alike.

The Pre-service Certificate in Teaching Skills course, unique in Bangladesh, has been developed to impart important skills amongst those who have no teaching experience but are interested in working in the education sector. The course will cover basic education theory and hands-on activities that involve all the aspects of best teaching practice. The programme includes practical sessions where each participant is attached to faculty members of Scholastica so that they can learn from mentor teachers in this renowned institution. Moreover, the candidates will get a chance to actually teach students and gather practical exposure in classroom teaching.

The Certificate is recognised by Scholastica and has been endorsed by other schools, including Sunnydale, Oxford International School, Junior Laboratory School and Happy Times International School.
