Khawaja Mozammel Hoque Foundation (KMRF) scholarship awarding ceremony was held at Choubarri Islamia High School in Sirajganj. Around 188 meritorious students secured A+ grade in the Junior School Certificate exam and students of class ten from 48 different educational institutions of the district received the scholarships. KMRF has been awarding this scholarship to promote the talented students of different schools of Sirajganj district since 2001. Khwaja Tipu Sultan, Chairman was present in the programme.

A launching ceremony and meet the press at Academia-Technology Alliance was held in Dhaka at the Westin Hostel on March 9, 2011 jointly organised by American International University, DANIDA, Microsoft and Admiral IT. The Commerce Minister of Bangladesh Muhammad Faruk Khan MP was present as chief guest while Ambassador of Royal Danish Embassy, Svend Olling was present as the special guest in the occasion. The programme was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of American International University, AIUB Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna. Business Development Director of Admiral IT Frands Sharpe and Microsoft dynamics Business Applications Regional Director SE Asia and Korea Sandie Overtveld also spoke on the occasion.
Treasurer, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Vice President (Academics), Deans, teachers, officers of AIUB, representatives from DANIDA, Microsoft, Admiral IT, and other renowned electronic and print media personnel were also present at the occasion.
Raisins not Virgins staged at IUB

A romantic comedy titled, 'Raisins not Virgins' was staged at the permanent campus of IUB at Bashundhara on March 10-11, 2011. The one-hour play, written and directed by Sharbari Zohra Ahmed and produced by Excalibur Entertainment and Jatrik Travels Ltd., was based on a young girl's perception of Islam living in an American society. The actors of the play were Laila Plamondon, Mita Chowdhury, J.R. Aducci, Imogen Butler Cole, Aref Syed, Muraly S. and Ulfath Kuddus.
Towhid Samad, Chairman, Governing Council, IUB, Members of IUB Founding Trust, Prof. M Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor (In-Charge), Prof. Nazrul Islam, Director, SLASS, Prof. Razia Sultana Khan, Head, Department of English and Department of Modern Languages, Dr. Tanvir A Khan, Registrar, Dr. Nadim Jahangir, Director, School of Business, distinguished guests and other faculty members, staff and students of the university were present at the programme.
Connecting Classrooms Dissemination Seminar
British Council Bangladesh hosted a dissemination seminar to showcase the Connecting Classrooms experience and share the lessons at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on March 22, 2011. The objectives of the event were to showcase project works in Connecting Classrooms, to bring together schools in developing an international dimension in teaching and learning, and lastly to explore the role that school partnerships can play in developing the voice of the students through student councils.
Md. Nazrul Islam Khan, National Project Director, Access to Information Programme and Md. Sirazul Islam, Secretary in Charge and Additional Secretary, Ministry of Education of Bangladesh were present at the occasion. District Education Officer's experience of CC was shared by Mokammel Hoque from Bhola District. In addition, Zeba Farah Haque, student of Viqarunnissa Noon School shared her experiences of CC with the audience.

Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) observed the 91th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu and Jatiya Shishu Dibash on March 17.
The day long programme included placing of floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation, discussion meeting, and cultural function.
A colourful rally led by the Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof. Dr. M.A Sattar Mandal was brought out at the university campus in the morning. The rally was attended by teachers, students and employees of the university.
BAU Shishu Kishore Council and Sammilito Sangskritik Jote organised a cultural programme. The students of different educational institutions and BAU took part in the musical soiree titled 'Bangabandhu and Bangladesh'. They also took part in the poetry recitation session.
Ganotantrik Shikkah Forum of BAU organised a discussion at the campus marking the occasion.
Vice-chancellor of the university Prof. Dr. M.A Sattar Mandal was the chief guest at the discussion. Among others Prof. Dr. Manjurul Alam, Prof. Dr. AKM Zakir Hossain, register Md. forum secretary Prof. Dr. MAM Yeahia Khandaker, Nazibur Rahman, Mohammad Waliullah and Md. Aynul Haque addressed the discussion.

The 37th batch students of Jahangirnagar University (JU) celebrated their 3rd anniversary. The slogan of the programme was “Amra Shaeitirish, Shapna Gari, Shapnake Shatti Kori”. The three-day programme was inaugurated on March 16 with a colorful rally in the campus where JU Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Farhad Hossain was present as the chief guest.
To mark the day they organised a cultural function in the evening at the Selim Al-Deen Muktamanch of campus. Drama and different cultural productions by different batch students also took place.
