A Course on Climate at IUB
The International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) concluded its seventh short course on Scientific Approaches to the Community Based Adaptation on July 20, 2011 at at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). To mark the programme a certificate giving ceremony was held at the Lake Shore Hotel. The seventh batch consisted of ten foreign students from France, Africa, India and Nepal.

At the ceremony, Professor M Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor (In Charge) Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) and Dr Atiq Rahman, Director, Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS) distributed the certificates to the students and congratulated them. Dr Salimul Huq Director, ICCCAD congratulated the graduates and talked about the next masters programme and other programmes of ICCCAD to be held in Africa. Towhid Samad, Chairman, Governing Council, concluded, "ICCCAD has already gone global; I believe IUB will also go global one day."
The ceremony was also attended by D Terry Cannon, Visiting Director of Studies, ICCCAD, the chairman of IUB's board of Trust and members of the Trust.
