Daffodil International College Produces Brilliant Minds

Daffodil International College students have set a mark of brilliant result with 100 percent pass in the HSC Examinations this year. Md Sabur Khan, Chairman, Managing Committee, Daffodil International College expressed his gratitude towards the teachers while they made a courtesy visit after the results were published.

Principal of Daffodil International College Zamshedur Rahman said, “We provide regular lessons to our students. We also take measures to train our teachers for upgrading their quality of teaching and methodology which was reflected in the result of this year's examinations.”


17th Batch to graduate from State University of Bangladesh

The 17th batch of Department of Business Administration of State University of Bangladesh (SUB) observed the graduation day of Bachelors in Business Administration on July 26. Before starting a cultural programme, Professor Dr Iftekhar Gani Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of SUB, Professor AYM Ekram-Ud-Daulah, Registrar of SUB, Dr Nazrul Islam, Dean, School of Business and Social Studies, Assistant Professor Atif Anwar and Senior Lecturer Wasim Palash of Department of Business Administration spoke and wished the students the best in life.


Tree Plantation Programme at DIU

Daffodil International University organised a tree plantation programme on campus in Ashulia on August 6, 2011. Professor M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of the university was present at the occasion as the chief guest. The tree plantation programme was also attended by Professor Emeritus Dr Aminul Islam and Professor Dr Mahabubul Haque Majumder, Dean, Faculty of Science and Information Technology. Under this programme around 200 seedlings of different varieties were planted all over.


SU Celebrates Birth Anniversary

Southern University Bangladesh celebrated the 150th birth anniversary Rabindranath Tagore and the birth anniversary of our national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.

Entitled “Rabindra-Nazrul Utshab” the programme was inaugurated by Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Sharifuzzman. Dean of Business Administration Professor Dr Abdul Muktadir, Registrar Professor Zahiruddin Ahmed, Head of Business Ishrat Jahan, and Professor Hasina Zakaria was present at the ceremony among others.


Economic Lecture Series

Economic Lecture Series-1, “Globalisation and Bangladesh”, was held at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur, by the Department of Economics. Mustafa K Mujeri, Director General, Institute of Bangladesh Development Studies was the main speaker. The programme was started by the welcome address Jani Parvin, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics. Professor Dr Abdul Jalil Miah, Vice Vhancellor Begum Rokeya University was the chief guest. Professor Mozammel Haque, Treasurer, BRUR was the special guest. The programme was chaired by Morshed Hossain, Chairman, Department of Economics, BRUR.


Job Placement Mock Interview Session at BRAC University

BRAC University (BRACU) organised a mock interview session at the university campus on July 30, 2011. The event was welcomed by Ismat Shereen, Head of Career Services Office (CSO). She mentioned that the goal of Career Services is to provide efficient, effective, and personalised services to BRAC University students, alumni, and employers. Career Services is an interface between the campus and the employment community to facilitate student work, career development through professional practice programmes, and career employment. As such, CSO offered this programme to give the students an essence of real-life job interview experience, so that they are ready to face employers while appearing for jobs. This programme is mainly composed for students who are in their final semesters and preparing for getting internships. Interviews were taken by 22 officials from leading companies like Grameen Phone, Airtel, tech One Global Ltd, British America Tobacco, Standard Chartered Bank, BRAC Bank, Square Pharmaceuticals, Incepta Pharmaceuticals, ACI Cropex, Advanced Data Network Systems Ltd, Flora Telecom, Novotel, Palmal Garments, Dhaka University, Save the Children, ShishuPalli Plus, Fhi 360, Research Computing Private Ltd and BRAC.


Workshop at Jatiyo Kobi Nazrul Islam University

A workshop titled “Mobilisation Workshop at Faculty and Department Levels” was held at Jatiyo Kobi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) in Trishal on August 6, 2011. Business Administration Faculty organised the workshop under “Academic Innovation Fund (AIF)” at its auditorium.

Vice-chancellor of JKKNIU Professor Dr Syed Giasuddin Ahmed inaugurated the workshop as chief guest. Treasurer of the university, Professor Dr Mohammad Abul Basar, addressed the workshop as special guest.

Dean of Business Administration Faculty, Dr Subrata Kumar Dey presided over the workshop. Among others Professor Dr Mozahar Ahmed of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), also consultant of AIF was the resource person at the workshop.

Lecturer of Human Resource Department of the university delivered the welcome speech while Raju Ahmed, a Lecturer of Accounting and Information System Department moderated it.
