“With my sunglasses on, I'm Jack Nicholson. Without them, I'm fat and 60.”- Jack Nicholson, Hollywood actor.

On a sunny morning when you are ready to face the day in full throttle (lazy Ramadan days aside) and even when you are wearing your best clothes and shoes, things may seem a little incomplete without your favourite pair of sunglasses.

Whether wayfarer or onassis, sunglasses have been in style for almost as long as denim jeans.

Sunglasses have always been essential accessories. Youngsters search high and low for the best pair of sunglasses for themselves. Sunglasses are fun to look through and they are also fun when coordinating with your outfits. There are tons of different types of sunglasses that can help enhance an outfit. They can add flair, a sense of style and the perfect touch to take you from a seven to a ten in no time.

And now, with the ever so stylish 'retro' 70s and 80s look back in fashion, there is almost no need to spend time wondering which pair to choose from. Oversized sunglasses, which were fashionable in the 1980s, look like a pair that are extremely large for the face. They often come in bright colours with coloured lenses and can be found in reasonable prices for students looking for a pair for everyday use (but with lots of style added, not to forget!).

The many different kinds of sunglasses can give youngsters an array of choices to choose from and that too, in different colours to mix and match with your outfits.

Wayfarer sunglasses look a lot like the Ray Ban sunglasses that our parents sported back in the 80s and early 90s. These sunglasses have come back with a vengeance with an eye-popping style statement. These beauties can be seen on some of the top celebrities out there along with teens and adults. These sunglasses look awesome on narrow to oval shaped faces. They go perfect with hipster looking outfits such as the cute top and skinny jeans ensemble, or the classic white tee shirt and dark blue jeans.

When talking about sunglasses there is no way that the classic aviator sunglasses can go without mention. One of the best things about aviators is that they look amazing on anyone. One can wear these sunglasses anywhere and with any outfit. These sunglasses used to be extremely popular back in the late 70s and 80s but recently, over the last five years or so, Aviators have come back, and they have come back big! Aviators will give any outfit a 'glammed up' feel and they flatter any facial shape out there. One can find tons of different styles, colours and more. Another great aspect about aviators is that they look amazing on both girls and guys.

Onassis glasses or “Jackie O's” are very large sunglasses worn by women. This style of sunglasses is said to mimic the kind worn by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the 1960s. Jackie O's have recently come back into fashion for women of all ages since they rub on a very retro and sophisticated look on girls. So, if you want to pair up spunk with elegance, Jackie O's are for you!

Colourful sunglasses are in style again, just like colourful prints and flannels (checkered shirts) have come back as well. These sunglasses are great and they will add a bit of colour to this summer wardrobe. These shades help to accessorise any outfit the moment one puts them on. The popular colours right now are yellows, greens, blues, reds and oranges. These vibrant colours will help to accessorise ones outfit and add a bit of colour to his or her wardrobe. One will find tons of amazing funky styles and different shapes, just perfect for those 'out there' looks.

All of these sunglasses are available in all kinds of prices, starting from Taka 200. You can find them in any optics shop in the city. In essence, sunglasses are a great way to play up a certain style. Whether one is looking for a retro pair or a modern and sleeker one, he or she will find that sunglasses can give one all of it! So, have fun with colours and shapes and get a pair that will flatter your sense of style this summer!
