Guide to a Better Future

On October 23, 2011 Examination Services Department of British Council organised a ceremony to launch the publication of 'School Exams - a guide for parents and students on IGCSE/O & A Levels.' The guide contains some essential material for many parents and students as it addresses concerns that parents may have about their children who are appearing for these examinations.

School principals and senior teachers of prominent English medium schools were present at the occasion. Additionally, UK exam board representatives, Saidur Rahman of Edexcel International and Suzy Chowdhury of Cambridge International Examinations inaugurated the session. John Guy, syndicate member of University of Cambridge and Murray Keeler, Country Exams Manager of British Council were also present.

Nasreen Sultana, Deputy Country Exams Manager, who developed the guide, spoke about the aim behind this publication and how it will help to educate the parents and the students of UK school curriculum. She elaborated on its benefits and global recognition, how it can be studied in Bangladesh and how examinations are conducted. She pointed out the role of British Council in facilitating this process, focusing on the support and services provided by British Council throughout the students' study career.
