Silly Tales

Disgusting Mistake!

Last Ramadan, some of my friends and I decided to have iftaar together outside after class. Since our class ended right before iftaar and we did not have time to go back home planned on eating out together. We went to this little place nearby where they served really good 'halim'. We ordered four bowls and while eating and talking, we watched one of our friends pick a strange looking 'thing' out of the bowl and put it in his mouth. When we watched him take it out, we realised that what he thought was a piece of chilli, was actually a brown little cockroach! While we watched him throw up outside, we could not help but just sit there and laugh!

Last Punishment

When I was in class 9 a weird incident took place in my life. I was one of the naughtiest boys in class, along with four of my friends. One day, we were playing with a table tennis ball in the classroom during break when suddenly one of us ended up hitting a girl with the ball by mistake. She thought it was done on purpose and one of us was trying to tease her. She got really mad and went to complain to the teacher. The next class was Bangla paper 2 and the teacher was the one we were all very scared of. We decided not to attend the class. My friends were able to leave the classroom without anyone noticing. Unfortunately, I was the one our teacher caught. He brought me back into the classroom and asked me to stay standing in front of the whole class for rest of the period. He also ended up informing my father about the incident!

Unfortunate Snatcher

It was a rainy day in August when I was returning to Dhaka from my hometown, Khulna, during the summer holidays. I was accompanied by my cousin and my aunt, and we were travelling by bus. Unfortunately, my cousin has the embarrassing habit of throwing up during journeys. She was carrying paper bags so that the bus didn't get flooded with her vomit. After filling up a bag, she was holding the bag outside the window when the bus was waiting for the ferry. Suddenly she felt a slight jerk on her hand and we both looked outside. To our surprise, a man who was running with 100 m/s velocity, snatched the bag full of vomit from my cousin. The poor snatcher might have thought that something valuable was inside the paper bag. The rest of the way, we just laughed uncontrollably wondering what his expression would be after opening the bag.
