Debate on 'Independence through Logic' at AUST

On December 31, 2012, the final session of 'Intra-university Debate Competition, 2012' was successfully held at the seminar room at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST). Professor Dr A M M Shafiullah, Vice-Chancellor, AUST, Professor Dr Kazi Shariful Alam, Treasurer, AUST, Professor Dr S A M Abdullah Al Mamun, Head, Department of CSE, AUST, were present on the ocaasion.

Fresher's Orientation at BRAC University

The orientation programme of the spring semester of BRAC University was held on January 7, 2013. Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Ainun Nishat was present at the welcoming ceremony as the chief guest. NITER to Expand Student Capacity

National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research (NITER), Nayarhat, Savar, Dhaka, is working to expand its student capacity in the upcoming session. Highlighting the issue, a meeting was held between a team of NITER led by Jahangir Alamin, Chairman of the Governing Body and President of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) and Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Vice-Chancellor, University of Dhaka on January 2, 2013.

Seminar on ACCA and FIA

A seminar on potentiality of ACCA and FIA in Bangladesh was arranged by Premier International College recently. The key note speaker was Dr Afra Sazzad, Regional Head of Education, MENASA (Middle East, North Africa and South Asia). Mohua Rashid, Country Manager, ACCA Bangladesh also spoke at the occasion. The seminar was presided by Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Executive Director of Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT).

Golden Jubilee and Alumni Reunion at BAU

More than ten thousand participants including graduates from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) participated in the two-day long on campus celebration from January 3-4, 2013, marking "The Golden Jubilee and Alumni Reunion- 2012", of the university. The BAU authority organised the two- day programme.

Career Counseling for Business Students at EU

Department of Business Administration of Eastern University (EU) held a seminar titled 'Career Counseling, Effective CV Writing and How to face Interview' on January 1, 2013. Professor Dr Ashraf Hosain, Chairperson, Faculty of Business, EU was the welcome speaker. Dr S M Farhad Mahmud, Vice President, HRD, ROBI Axiata Ltd, was present at the occasion.

Victory Day Observed at ZHSUST

The 41st Victory Day was observed at Z H Sikder University of Science and Technology at Madhupur, Kartikpur, Bhedorgonj, Shariatpur with a colourful rally. Later on, a cultural programme was organised on December 17, 2012. Professor Dr Md Nazrul Islam Khan, Pro-Vice Chancellor, ZHSUST chaired the programme and highlighted the significance of the Victory Day.

All University Badminton Tournament 2012

East West University stood as the Runners up in the All University Doubles Badminton Tournament 2012 organised by Event Craft. The tournament was held at University of Dhaka Gymnasium on from December 28-29, 2012. Rubaba Dowla Matin, President, Bangladesh Badminton Federation and Chief Service Officer, Airtel handed over the trophies.

PAA (Pharmacy Alumni Association) of State University Bangladesh (SUB) was inaugurated on January 4, 2013.
