Silly Tales

Crazy Exams

Exams always make me crazy. Just before the exam nights I keep having nightmares about my exams. I see dreams where I am late for exam or running out of time. I try to speed up but there is always a lot left to be answered. My heart starts to race. Sometimes the nightmares drive me so nuts that I wake up and start writing in the middle of the night. During my last semester's final exams, an aunt from our hometown came to visit us. She was staying in my room. As usual, one night I woke up and started to write. My aunt got scared seeing me like that; she started thinking that I was possessed! So, to save me, she came up with a mug of water and poured it over my head. When I told her, it was nothing but my nightmares, both of us broke into laughter. My mom said it was a good punishment for my recklessness when it came to studying. Unfortunately that punishment didn't work. I still study less and go insane when my exams come around.

Valentine's Mistake

Valentine's Day is for couples and specially on this day the 'singles' realise that they are actually single. As I am single too, I wanted to do something special for myself on this day. So after my class had ended, my friend Farzana and I decided to walk on the roads of Dhanmondi and count the number of couples out on the streets. We started from road 6/A to 9/A and then back to 6/A again. Till then we counted around 152 couples. As we were counting, I saw that a guy and a girl were sitting by the side of the road. The girl had short and silky hair and I couldn't see her face clearly but I saw her eyes which closely resembled that of a Chinese girl. As usual we counted them too. But as we went closer we were surprised to see that it wasn't even a girl. It was a guy! For a few seconds we kept on looking at them, surprised. And then we burst out into laughter! The two boys seemed confused and were exchanging glances. But we couldn't stop laughing at the fact that we thought these two boys were a couple celebrating Valentine's Day!

BPL vs IPL

During the first season of Bangladesh Premier League, I was at the stadium watching a match was between Dhaka Gladiators and Duronto Rajshahi. The stands kept filling up, as both teams were playing equally well. I was cheering for the Gladiators from the eastern stand of the gallery. Suddenly, all the flood lights of the ground had turned off and the stadium went completely dark. The crowd switched all the mobile flashlights on and kept enjoying. It was an awesome feeling but I was a little annoyed. I was just thinking about how these games were telecasted internationally and people all over the world will get the wrong idea about the maintenance and technical problems of our country, especially when they will compare it to the IPL (Indian Premiere League). Then, one day I was watching an IPL match on TV. Then suddenly the lights in the stadium in India switched off, and I was so excited knowing that these mistakes happen with them too!
