Blurring the Boundaries

A Frenchman's quest for achieving a Bangali touch: Pierre Laurent builds a contraption that floats on water

The Pakistani artist Abdullah and the French artist Stephenie joined hands to create the installation titled "Song from the Oven"

In the second international Britto organised workshop, 20 artists -- 11 from abroad and nine from home -- had their chance to give shape to their concepts. It was in fact a workshop for the conceptualists -- those who abandoned the old mode of art to express themselves through site-specific installation and performance or both.

The 15-day-long workshop kick started on January 30. The venue of the creative actions was Nungola, Bogra. It became a hub of creative exchanges among the participating artists as well as between artists and the visiting art aficionados. The last two days were allocated for an overview of the works that had been done in Bogra. The art lovers ran to the La Galerie, Alliance Franchaise, Dhaka, to have a look.
