Chintito

Barefoot on the tar
Out on the streets they are
The farmers are not where they belong
They have declared somewhat of a jung
Forgive the phoren tongue
Keya koru?
Ekush ka chetona hua chit patang

Needed for cultivating rice
Conditions are not at all nice
They say they are not getting the fertiliser
As is also the finding of the unbiased appraiser
Emotions are on the rise, sir
And why not?
Truth should have been where the lies are

Ministers talk of no shaar shortage
Failing yet to quell the increasing rage
All these facts are being reported in channel and paper
But those responsible say it is but another media caper
Denying reality appears safer
How's that?
The powerful always considered us dressed in a diaper

Today what you shall sow
Morrow lesser you will grow
My rickshaw-puller is no Harvard-ferot economist
Gripped tight he the handle, sweat on his vein and wrist
He fears for the season missed
Pray, why so?
Price per kg will be taka fifty, he wist

Bashing the media
Is 'in' in some paedia
It helps naught to put the blame on someone else
Especially when pokhyo-bipokhyo the same story tells
Tolling are the bells
Why are they?
Because the truth ultimately sells
