Kolkata and it's Food
What can be more fascinating than stepping into the realms of mouth-watering food? Street food in Kolkata can be anything from a dosa, to Chinese spring rolls to the usual chaat. It's not a wonder that office goers in Kolkata do not bother to carry lunch to work. They simply drop by one of these Food Streets in the city. Located at various places in Kolkata, most of these images are from the Food Streets in New Market and Dharmatala. Eating rich food sprinkled with an extra spell of desi spices have always been a cultural trait of the subcontinent. There are several tea stores strewn all over the place, where, interestingly, customers are given little disposable cups made of clay. Even though Food Streets in Kolkata boast of traditional food from all over the country, fast food takes over once the evenings in the city fills up with after-class youngsters looking for a place to hang out.
Entering the world of dosas, 'jhal muri' and 'pani puris', one will find men, women and children from all walks of the life savouring the last bit of their meals.
