The Scent of Green Guavas

What is summer without crunchy, luscious and fleshy guavas at any hour of the day? Deep in the orchards of this delectable fruit, in Barisal, growers climb the delicate trees to select the sweet and sour guavas as well as those that are slightly soft with sweet ripeness. The green fruits are collected and transported by boat to the cities where urbanites can enjoy the juicy treats that are full of goodness and are far more nutritious than the foreign fruits that crowd the fruit stalls.
