Seminar on English sound and syntax

The Department of English of Kurigram Government College organised a day-long seminar on January 15. The seminar included discussion session on English sound and syntax, quiz contest and comic entertainment. About 450 students, teachers and journalists participated in the seminar.

Deputy Commissioner of Kurigram Md. Habibur Rahman launched the day-long seminar as a chief guest while Vice-principal of the college, Associate Prof. Md. Tofayel Hossen was present as special guest.

Head of English Department, Md. Abu Zobaer Al-Mukul delivered his welcome address on background and objectives of the seminar.

Nageswari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of the district Md. Rafiqul Haque, Kurigram Sadar UNO Kazi Abed Hossen, former Chairman of English Department of Begum Rokeya Government College (Rangpur) Prof. Tapan Kumar Rudro, Departmental Head of English of Kurigram Government College Asst. Professor Abu Zobaer Al-Mukul and others were present at the seminar.


Annual Sports Day

Dhaka Cantonment Girls' Public School and College organised a three day long annual sports from January 22-24, 2011. Major General Sheikh Mamun Khaled, psc, Area Commander, Logistic Area and Begum Nigar Sultana Khaled were present as chief guest and special guest. The Chairman of the governing body, Brigadier General Md. Imamul Huda, psc, principals of other institutions and guardians of the students were also present. The principal of the institution, Lt Col Md. Zayedul Islam, AEC, presided over the programme. Sultana Khaled, the special guest, distributed prizes among the winners.


View Exchange Programme at NUB

Public Relations Division (PRD) of Northern University Bangladesh arranged a View Exchange Programme with Journalists on January 29, 2011. Prof. MA Razzaq, Pro-Vice chancellor, Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) was the chief guest while Prof. Dr. Md. Nurul Islam, Registrar NUB chaired the programme.

Prof. MA Razzaq said that, the aim of the Northern University Bangladesh is to provide a quality education in higher education sector in our country. After eight years of its establishment, this University has been offering a friendly atmosphere of education likes other universities in abroad.

Among others, Md. Asraful Islam, Deputy Registrar, AHM Shamim (Tuhin), Deputy Registrar and In-charge, PRD and Abdul Matin, Senior Asst. Registrar of NUB were present in the open discussion of the View Exchange Programme.
