First Convocation of PSTU

The first convocation of PSTU (Patuakhali Science and Technology University) was held on February 27. Nurul Islam Nahid, the Education Minister presided over the function while Professor Nazrul Islam, chairman of UGC (University Grants Commission) delivered his speech at the function as chief guest.

Professor Dr. Shakhawat Hussen, Vice-Chancellor of PSTU delivered a well come speech at the function.

The Education Minister handed gold medals and certificates to 11 best students from different universities of all 11 batches of PSTU at the convocation.

Shawkat Hossain Hiron, Mayor of Barisal City Corporation (BCC), Shawkat Momen Shajahan, Lawmaker for Tangil and member of the Regent Board of PSTU, Dherandra Devnath Shambhu, Lawmaker for Barguna and also member of the Regent Board of PSTU, Bimol Krisna Majumder, Chairman for Barisal Education Board, Mohammad Eusuf, DC, Md. Azad Mia, SP of Patuakhali, higher officials of different sectors, deans, officials of PSTU and political leaders were present at the function.

A total of 495 students belonging to the departments of Agriculture, Bachelor of Business Administration, Computer Science and Engineering and Veterinary Medicine were awarded degrees at the convocation.

Students of BSC (Ag) of sessions 1999-2000 to 2004-05, BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration of sessions 2003-04 to 2004-05, CSE of sessions 2003-04 to 2004-05, of session 2002-03 and all who completed MS (Masters) and PhD degrees within December 2010 got the opportunity to participate in the function.
