16th Inter-University Athletics

Athletes from Chittagong University.

On March 7-9, 2011, the 16th Inter-University Athletics Competition 2011 was held in the central field of the University of Chittagong.

Seven universities around the country participated in the programme, including Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Rajshahi University, Khulna University, Jahangirnagar University, National University, Islamic University and Chittagong University. Abdus Shahid was the chief guest while Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Md. Alauddin presided the occasion. Professor Dr. Pran Gopal Dutta, Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and Prof. Dr. Jyoti Prokash Dutta, Dean, Social Science Faculty, University of Chittagong attended the event as special guests.

The programme was inaugurated with the national anthem and recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. The event included javelin throw, discus throw, 400 miter hurdles, 100 miter sprints, 4x400 relay, long jump and a lot more. National University won the overall champion trophy and Chittagong University succeeded to secure the second place. Among the individual achievements, Rupali Khatun, Dept. of Law, University of Chittagong won the Gold-medal in Javelin throw.
