An exhibition titled “Helmet Saves Life” took place from June 6 to 11, 2011 at the lobby of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). The students of the batch 16 of BBA organised the event in association with Cogito Marketing Solutions, a leading advertising agency of the country. Professor Imran Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor of ULAB inaugurated the session as the chief guest. Haseeb Hasan Chowdhury, Group Head, Strategy and Zaria Tasneem, Key Account Manager of Cogito were present as special guests.

The exhibition displayed 40 advertisements of THINK, a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) project of Cogito that addresses different issues by developing creative works to get society's attention. The focus of this exhibition was to endorse the importance of wearing a helmet while riding a motorbike. “Life doesn't have a rewind button. Ride safe, wear helmet.”, “The highest punishment for riding a motorbike without helmet is 'death sentence'. It's not a law, it's just the harsh truth.”, “A biker is incomplete without a helmet.” -- These were among the many messages of the exhibited advertisements.

Most of the ads were image oriented. For example, there was an ad with an image of a broken coconut, which said, “Imagine this is your head. In fact your head would look even messier if you encounter a motorbike accident without wearing a helmet.” Another ad that caught attention was one that portrayed two pictures side by side -- one was of a father holding a gun on his little daughter's head, the other was of him riding a bike with the daughter without putting a helmet on her head. The message of this ad was, “The choice is yours, how would you want to kill your daughter? Helmet Saves Life.” Those who think that driving motorbike without a helmet was 'cool' were alerted by one ad which showed a girl saying, “I dumped him 'coz he's dumb enough not to wear a helmet!”

The exhibition created a hype among the students. Ismail Hossain Shourav, a BBA student of the sixth semester, said, “This is a 100 percent successful campaign as all the ads are touchy, innovative and educational.” Sazib Ahmed, another student from the same batch said that the ads are unique because of the images. He said that he is a biker and wears a helmet, but from now on he will keep an extra one with him so that anyone accompanying him on the bike remains safe.

Md. Ziauddin Shujon, Said Chowdhury, Maliha Rabbi, Taznuva Ashraf, Nafiz Muktadir and Magrufa Mouly from batch 16 of BBA worked voluntarily to set up the whole event. The exhibition was sponsored by Citycell.
