To Be Passionate

I spent a huge part of my life (14 years that is) in South Breeze. And now, I have to spend at least another three to four years at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) where I am completing my undergrad, majoring in Media and Communication. So that's the plan so far.

During classes I loved to annoy the teachers; us friends would also steal lunch boxes and pull pranks on other friends through out the day. The breaks were all about sneaking a ball out from the lockers to play basketball or football. Like almost all other kids, bunking classes was routine for me and my 'buds'.

My best moments in school came around once every year. It was the yearly foundation day programme where a few of my classmates and I would form a band and cover our favourite songs in front of the entire school. Those were just amazing days, young and full of energy. Worst moments also arrived every year for me, especially when it was the report card day. My report card would always be full of C's and D's and sometimes some E's as well, but the worst moment was the time I had to pass on a trial from class 5 to class 6.

Another favourite moment of mine would be the time I got on the list of being one of the top 10 students in my class, right after the year I almost flunked a grade. There were a lot of good times and great memories in school but the best was the day I graduated with a good transcript from school.

Patience is a virtue and working hard always pays off. That's what I have learnt after joining my university. More responsibilities and more independence from home are some of the other things I gained after joining university. A lot of class mates but fewer friends. These are the few differences of my university life compared to my school life.

I don't know exactly when I emerged as a musician but I always had the knack for it since I was so accustomed to watching my dad (Manam Ahmed) doing music as I was growing up.

Since I always had the interest to play music, I started learning to play the guitar at the age of 13 and that's how it all began.

As far as music goes, I am just going to go with the flow. I do not have any specific plans for myself so far. I intend to keep playing my guitar and do not plan on moving away from that path.
