'Being Human'-Charity Concert by IAC

The International Affairs Club (IAC) of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) and UDiON Foundation organised a charity programme of collecting warm cloths through a concert titled 'Being Human' for people suffering in the cold in North Bengal, on January 27, 2012 at the university permanent campus in Bashundhara. Professor M Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, IUB, inaugurated the event as the chief guest. Students from various universities attended the concert where the mode of entry was one warm cloth or 100 Taka to donate in the charity fund. The Vice Chancellor quoted that the cause of this event is delightful as it is and the hosting was simply superb. The performing bands were Bohemian, Arbovirus, Mechanix, Alternation, Rainy Taxi and Seventh Avenue, Nemesi, and Shunno.

Asif Kamal, President of IAC said, “We chose 'Being Human' as the motto which actually grabbed attention of the young generation to come forward and improvise our society.” Also Professor Nazrul Islam, Dean, School of Arts and Liberal Sciences (SLASS), Dr G M Shahidul Alam, Head, Department, Media and Communication, Senior Lecturer, Mohammed Masud Chowdhury, Junior Lecturers, Jessica Tartila Suma, Aditi Ahmed, Raisa Rasheeka, and Kazi Faruque Ahmed, Senior Manager, Division of Students Activities (DoSA) were present at the event.
