Renowned novelist and Editor of the daily Kaler Kantho Imdadul Haque Milon and Deputy Editor of the daily Prothom Alo Anisul Haque were present inaugurated the ceremony as the guests of honour. The function was also addressed by Md Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil Group, Mohammad Faruk, Principal, Daffodil International School, Amena Hasan Ana, Convener, My e Kids Camp-2012, Samia Khan, a student representative from Scholastica School.

Organised by E- Media and sponsored by Daffodil International School, the camp took place for the second time in the country. The day long programme included colourful rally, ICT fair, free browsing internet zone, computer games zone, painting competition, essay writing competition, rhymes, music, poetry recitation and dress as you like. Children and kids of different age groups got the opportunity to participate in this competition.

At the inaugural session, Imdadul Haque Milon said that we all expect a beautiful and enlightened Bangladesh. For that we must take care of our children and bring up our next generation with the quality of leadership. We are renowned as a nation of fighters wth the glorious history of 1952 and 1971 and that makes us stand out on the world. He advised the children to know the true history of the country and build themselves as potential citizens to contribute to the development of the country.

Anisul Haque stated that we need to be open to our surroundings in order to gain knowledge as well as enjoy life. He also said that the main duty of the children is to study and abide by their parents. Through study children will have to build their career first and then to contribute towards the nation.

Md Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil Group said, “Nowadays, we face lots of problems and limitations to bring up a child in befitting manner both mentally and physically. Earlier, there were lots of opportunities for playing outdoor games for the children. But, now most of the children are captivated inside apartments. Television and computer are now their best friends and only means of entertainment. An instrument can never be a mean to nurture a child.” He also said that, it is not possible to keep pace with the global competitive job market with only a certificate, rather it requires mental and physical fitness too. Keeping this in the mind Daffodil International School continues to organise such camps every year.
