The 4th year students of Department of Architecture of BUET take a month long trip to the mysterious land of India every year. It is a tradition that the students of BUET have made their own to expand and bring variety into their experience and work. The batch named Fanush 07 has made over 20 tours in their four year long architecture life to quench their thirst for beauty, nature and adventure. The India tour, 2012 was another glorious addition to this tradition, where 46 young keen minds had the interest to learn more and explore. Their purpose was to mix their sense of aesthetics with the culture of India and assemble photographs of the best work or piece of architecture they have witnessed to display the experience.

The journey started in Kolkata and gradually continued towards Delhi, Shimla, Manali, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Agra, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Mumbai, Goa, Trissur, Trivrandam, Munnar, Allapuza, Bangalore and ended back in Kolkata.

A total of 50 photos for the exhibition were selected by the very renowned photographer Mahfuzul Hasan Rana. The exhibition was called “IndiVisuals”.

These photographs of India showed a harmony of many individual aspects in nature, culture, colour, Indian architecture and gave good exposure to the people and traditions of India. During the 45 days that the students were there, they had visited 18 cities and came across countless breathtaking visuals. The exhibition was able to present just a few of them. The 4 day long exhibition had started from May 23 to May 26, 2012 at Drik Gallery ,Dhanmondi, Dhaka. The inauguration of the exhibition had prominent photographer and cinematographer of Bangladesh, Anwar Hossain.
