In June 2012, Volunteer for Bangladesh, the volunteer wing of JAAGO Foundation stepped in to celebrate World Environment Day 2012 in a two-day event. The first event took place on June 5, with 15 schools celebrating World Environment Day 2012 with Volunteer for Bangladesh by planting trees in their premises. To make this year's World Environment Day a special one, Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD) arranged a rally on June 8, which is named as “World Environment Day 2012: Riding Green” to promote an understanding that communities are pivotal to changing attitudes towards environmental issues and to make people aware about using environment friendly transport alternatives in order to achieve Green Economy solution for our country. We are inviting volunteers (Bangladeshi and foreigners), students, professionals and celebrities to be a part of our event.

The event is sponsored by Coca Cola Bangladesh. Debasish Deb, Country Manager of Coca-Cola Bangladesh and spokesperson for the company quoted, “Coca-Cola has a global vision to protect the environment and work towards building sustainable communities. JAAGO foundation has undertaken a series of activities for the benefit of communities and the well-being of the planet. Occasions like World Environment Day provide them an opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to sustainability and continue to work towards protecting and preserving the environment.
