BAGC Study Tour

The students and teachers of Banophool Adibashi Greenheart Collage enjoyed a study tour at Tepantor Film City in Baluka, Mymensingh on January 27 2013. It was led by the principal of BAGC Professor Adhir Chandra Aarker, Director Mr Prosenjit Chakma and Project co-ordinator Professor Dr Jitendra Lal Barua. Over 450 students attended the tour. The main objective of the tour was interaction between human and environment, an escape from the monotony of the daily life and enhancement of teacher student relationship.


BUBT Winter Cloths Distribution

The Social Welfare Club of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) arranged a distribution programme of warm clothes among the cold-affected people on January 22, 2013. This programme was inaugurated by honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor Md Abu Saleh of the University, and both the Vice Chancellor and the Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Md Ali Azam distributed the clothes among the suffering people. Afterwards, the members of the Social Welfare Club distributed a huge quantity of warm clothes among the cold-affected people near both the campuses of the University at Dhaka Commerce College Road and Rupnagar respectively.


Accounting week at Dhaka University

Accounting Week'13, the week of the AISians, for the AISians and by the AISians, was held from January 26 to 31 by the Department of Accounting and Information Systems of Dhaka University. It was held in the TSC auditorium and in Conference Hall of Faculty of Business Studies.

To enrich the knowledge about carrier the whole week was marked by valuable initiatives for AIS students like career fair, seminar and so on. The main purpose was to introduce the students with the corporate culture. To encourage extracurricular activities there was inter-batch case competition, debate competition, business quiz competition and math competition. Inter-batch sports competition, including cricket, football, chase, badminton, brought additional enjoyment throughout the week. The event concluded with a cultural night on the January 31.


Technology in Teaching

English conversation club of East West University organised an international workshop on “Using Technology in the EFL Classrooms and Publishing Papers” under the assistance of American Center at EWU campus on January 22, 2013. The workshop was conducted by Fife Macduff, regional diplomat of US department of States for English language programmes.


Graduates Forum at James P Grant School of Public Health

The eighth Graduate Forum ceremony of the James P Grant School of Public Health was held on January 20, 2013 at Sasakawa Auditorium, icddr,b, Dhaka on the occasion of the successful completion of the eighth MPH programme. The graduates' forum marks the end of our year-long master of public health programme which began in January of last year.Professor Ainun Nishat, Vice Chacellor of BRAC University was present on the occasion as the chief guest with Dr Timothy Grant Evans, Dean of JPGSPH as the chair. Dr Mushtaque Chowdhury, Vice Chairperson of BRAC and Dr. Abbas Bhuiya, Interim Executive Director of icddr,b were also present as Special guests.


NUB signs MoU with Shiksha O Anusandhan University

Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) signed a joint agreement (MoU) with 'Shiksha O Anusandhan University', Orissa, India on January 20 2013 at Northern University Bangladesh in line with educational and scientific cooperation. Professor Dr M Shamsul Haque, Vice-chancellor of NUB and Professor Dr R P Mohanty, Vice-chanellor of Shiksha O Anusandhan University, India signed the agreement on behalf of their respective University for three years. Under this MoU both universities have reached an accord on the mutual exchange of research scientists and faculty members, students, academic materials and other informations. Besides, joint research activities, participation in seminars, academic meetings and special training programmes will be arranged jointly.


Freshers' Reception & Orientation held at Southeast University

The freshers' Reception Programnes of Spring Semester-2013 of the BBA and MBA Programmes under the School of Business Studies of Southeast University was held at University Seminar Hall on January 21 2013. Mr Md Badiul Alam the Managing Director, National Bank Limited was the Chief Guest in the BBA Program and Mr Ejazur Rahman, the Managing Director, Mind Mapper Bangladesh and CEO, ISCEA Asia was the special guest in the MBA Programs and Professor Dr ANM Meshquat Uddin, Pro Vice Chancellor of the University was the Guest of Honor when Professor Dr Anwar Hossain, Vice Chancellor of the University was the Chaired. Lt Col (Retd) Md Ali Ambial Haque Khan, Registrar, Southeast University welcomed to the newly admitted students. He gave a brief introduction about the university in his address of welcome.


ULAB Holds Spring 2013 Freshers' Orientation

University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organised its Spring 2013 Freshers' orientation on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at its own Dhanmondi campus. Emphasizing ULAB's missions of sustainability, active learning and liberal arts practice, the orientation consisted of mixed media and video presentations about ULAB's mission, code of conduct, handbook, library, career service center and other facilities.

Later ULAB Vice Chancellor Professor Imran Rahman addressed the students to reach this truth through knowledge and welcomed the students and then introduced the heads of each department. Heads of Departments Dr Mohit Ul Alam, Dr Jude Genilo, Dr Sazzad Hossain and Dr Rezaul Karim Mazumder were present in the programme.
