The Executive Committee of The Daily Star Readers' Club, Kurigram unit has been forimed in its 2nd foundation anniversary function here on July 20 (today).

The anniversary function, organized by the club was held at the local TIB hall at Khalilgonj area of the town at 11 am.

Prof. Tapon Kumar Rudra, Manjurul Islam and Nasir Uddin Sabuj have been selected as President, Vice-president and General Secretary of the executive committee of 13 members where 30 members of the club were present. The club gave honor crests to Nandita Chakraborty who was an ideal and moral person and a former Headmaster of Kurigram Govt. High School. In the function Asst. Professor Azizul Islam of English Department of Kurigram Govt. College was chief guest , Executive Director of a leading NGO Solidarity Harun Ar Rashid Lal and Rangpur Correspondent of The Daily Star Rafiq Sarker were special guests while A Correspondent and Local Coordinator of the club Abdul Wahed was in the chair.

Among others Lecturer (English) Fazlul Haque, Asst. Prof. Mozaffar Hossen, Mahbubur Rahman Momin, Manjurul Islam, Rana Sarkar, Nasir Uddin Sabuj and Marium Sarker spoke in the function.
