Kuril jam set to ease Star Report The interchange over the junction of Airport Road and Biswa Road is expected to ease up the chronic traffic congestion at Kuril level crossing. The Tk 300-crore interchange will have six ramps to facilitate free flow of traffic from Purbachal New Town, airport, Mohakhali, Banani and Rampura through the level crossing and intersection at Kuril. Causing to halt the traffic 60 times a day, the intersection and the level crossing cost four hours of travel time each day. The interchange will make traffic movement on airport road smooth and relieve the city commuters of suffering. A 13-km link road, which is now under construction, will connect Purbachal New Town with Biswa Road and around a million people of the new town will be benefited. The construction work of the Kuril interchange is due to complete by next April.
