Star-Campus
“the saviour”
Marzia Rahman
Like any other aspiring writer, I had one simple wish that is to see my writings to be published, read and appreciated. But like most other first-time writers, I soon realized this dream is almost unattainable because no magazine or journal is interested in publishing the work of such fresh writers like us. At this time, The 'Star-Campus' emerged as a saviour, saviour of our dreams and hopes.
Star-campus started its journey in the month of August, 2006 with the motto of 'Of the students, by the students, for the students'. No doubt, it showed the students a new hope and a new purpose in life.
When the country seems like a wasteland and its new d-generation engrossed themselves completely in cell-phone, satellite, internet culture, Star Campus showed some hope. It gave the students a new platform where they can share their ideas, opinions and views. And happily, students from different public and private universities actively took part with their campus news and extra-academic activities. Some students for the first time got the chance to express their views and ideas by writing and thus could make the best use of their creativity. The magazine has really become for the students a great platform where they can dream and see their dream to be fulfilled.
But it did not limit itself to the students only. It shared the views and ideas of people of different professionals. I am grateful to the magazine because it gave me the chance and immense satisfaction by publishing my write-ups. It gave me a new identity as now I dare to call myself a writer.
So today after one year of its publication, on behalf of all the students and first-time writers, I want to show my gratitude to the Magazine and its whole team for fulfilling our dreams. Merci Beaucoup!
