Pocket Sized Subwoofer speaker from XMI!
XMI's X-Mini pocket speaker claims to be "the world's first pocketsize speaker with a built-in bass support and rechargeable battery." Apparently either feature alone is not a world's first, but together they've surely made some news!
Focused on portability, the X-Mini features an extendable, accordion-style vacuum tube that attempts to mimic the resonance of a subwoofer. Mids and highs are represented through that top speaker. Playback lasts anywhere from four to six hours, after which time you'll need to pack up the portable party and call it a night! Price stands at $37(BDT 2590).
Garmin Sports Watch measures Mileage and Speed
Garmin, an American electronics company, has just announced its Forerunner 50 Sports Watch slimming down its form factor to more like a watch this time. There's a motion-activated foot pod sensor that records your mileage and speed. Let's hope it's more accurate than some of the badly flawed similar devices available in the market.
There's also a heart rate monitor that looks exactly the same as the one included with Garmin's superb Forerunner 305 GPS-based sports watch. The Forerunner 50's heart rate, mileage and speed data can be uploaded to your PC via the Garmin USB ANT Stick, using a low-power wireless protocol called ANT+Sport.
The coolness continues when that data is sent up to Garmin's online training site, letting you keep track of each workout and share with your friends and competitors. The entire package with the watch, USB receiver, foot pod and heart rate monitor is priced at $199. That would be 13,930 BDT.
