Workshop at Presidency University

A workshop on "Case Study writing and Analysis" was held on September 15, 2011 organised by M H School of Business, Presidency University. The keynote speaker was Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) Professor Dr Anwar Hossain.

Among others Professor Dr Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Head, M H School of Business, Shibli Ahmed Khan, Assistant Professor and Head, Shamsul Alamin School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Y A M Rafiqul Haq, Assistant Professor and BBA Programme Coordinator and Dr Tarun Tapan Dhar, Assistant Professor and MBA Programme Coordinator participated in the discussion.


Seminar at JKKNIU

A seminar to introduce international standard curriculum was held at the conference room of administrative building at Jatiyo Kobi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) in Trishal on September 15, 2011.

The seminar titled “Course Curriculum Updating at Undergraduate and Masters Level” was organised by Academic Innovation Fund (AIF). The students and teachers of Computer Science and Engineering Department of JKKNIU and eminent academicians took part in the seminar.

Vice-chancellor of JKKNIU Professor Dr Syed Giasuddin Ahmed was the chief guest.

Dean of Science and Engineering Faculty of JKKNIU Professor Dr Md Abul Bashar presided over the seminar.

The head of Computer Science and Engineering Department of JKKNIU AHM Kamal, Professor Dr M Kaikobad of BUET and Zannatul Ferdous, among others addressed the seminar.

Professor Dr Md Haider Ali of Dhaka University and Professor Dr M A Motalib of Islamic University presented key-note papers at the seminar.

Orientation programme of WMBA students held at JU

The “Institute of Business Administration-JU” (IBA-JU) of Jahangirnagar University (JU) held an orientation programme to the weekend MBA students of the institute.

Director of Institute of Business Administration of Dhaka University (DU) Professor Dr M H Mamun, Director of IBA-JU Professor Dr Bakhtiar Rana and Coordinator of the institute Dr Shuddhasattwa addressed the function among others.


JU launches EMBA programme

The Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA) programme was launched at Jahangirnagar University.

Institute of Business Administration of the University has organised the programme.

Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Dr Shariff Enamul Kabir inaugurated the EMBA programme at Jahir Raihan Auditorium of the university as chief guest.

Among others, the treasurer of the University Professor Dr Nasir Uddin and Registrar Abu Bakker Siddque addressed the function as special guest.

Professor Dr Abdul Bayes the former Vice-Chancellor of the University also Dean of the institute presided over the function.


The Summerfield Alumni Night

The Alumni Night of Tiny Tots of the Summerfield International School was held on July 29, 2011.

The programme commenced with the recitation from the Holy Quran and a welcome speech by the chairperson, Anjum Husain. Parveen Ahmed, retired Vice-Principal and Najma Ahmed who were among the very first teachers of the school were present. They shared sweet memories from the time of the founder principal Faizi Chowdhury.

A cultural programme by the students was organised. Max Mistell, a comedian cum magician was also present to entertain the whole assembly with spontaneous mirth and magic.

The barbecue dinner was excellent and after that came the fun part for everyone to participate.


Seminar on “The Advancement of Women's Rights in Bangladesh” held at SUB

Department of Law, State University of Bangladesh (SUB) organised a seminar and open discussion on “The Advancement of Women's Rights in Bangladesh” at SUB seminar room on September 13, 2011. Professor Dr Sumaiya Khair, Chairman, Department of Law, University of Dhaka was present as keynote speaker at the seminar.

The seminar was also addressed among others by Dr Asif Nazrul, Professor, Department of Law, University of Dhaka and Advisor Department of Law, SUB. Professor Dr Asif Nazrul in his speech opined that it is a general concept that women are the weaker section of the society. To fill the gap in the legal and social reforms, emphasis must be given on their education, employment and genuine empowerment.

Professor Dr Iftekhar Ghani Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of SUB chaired the seminar and Professor A Y M Ekram-Ud-Daulah, Registrar, SUB welcomed the speaker and audiences present at the seminar. The seminar ended with an interactive open discussion with the faculty members and students of Department of Law, SUB.
