Silly Tales

Fortunate Gullibility

One day in university, I decided not to attend my Arts and Aesthetics class. Since our teacher was one of the most gullible and naïve people I had ever met, I knew I would get away with it somehow or the other. As I was roaming about the campus all cool, calm and collected, I realised that the teacher was standing right in front of me at that point. I saw him approach me. He came up to me and said, “You know, you have been skipping a lot of classes lately; you are coming today right?” and I put on a guilty face saying, "Of course sir! I will definitely be there today!” and then left the campus a short while after that. The next class, he asked me “We met yesterday! Why didn't you turn up in class?” I replied with the first thing that came to my head and I really did not think it would work. I said, “Sir, when? You must have been talking to my cousin, Maisha. You always seem to mix us up!” He actually believed me and said, “Oh right. Maybe! Good you are in class now, though!”

Lousy Singers

In our university, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, we had a class by one of our favourite lecturers, Imtiaz A Chowdhury, who used to punish us by making us sing in the class if we would come in late. That was a great source of amusement for the students sitting in the class and definitely horrible experiences for those who had to go through this and especially the lousy singers! Since I have always been a singer myself, this punishment was never really a 'punishmet' for me. One day this guy named Jitu was almost half an hour late for class and just after entering, he started singing the national anthem (not to mention, in a TERRIBLE voice). As he started singing, everyone had to stand up including our teacher. After he was done the whole class burst into laughter and even sir got embarrassed of his extremely innovative way of punishing!

The Trip of Love

Usually around four of my friends and I go to university together since we all live close by. One day one of our friends left without letting us know. We all had decided to play a prank on him. He is the kind of guy who is very shy around girls and cannot talk to them properly. There was a girl he really liked and never had the courage to say anything to her. When we went to university, we all pretended not to know him and we did not speak to him. When he got desperate to talk to us, we asked the girl he liked to go tell him that if he has anything to say to us then he had to say it to her and she would pass on the message to us. When she approached him and just said, "Hi!" the look on his face turned into the most hilarious expression ever. As soon as she started talking, he looked the other way and ran! While she stared at him, he tripped and fell and the girl started laughing. He was too embarrassed to talk to anyone for the rest of the day. Our prank ended up being better executed than we had thought!
