Portraying A Reality!
I would like to wholeheartedly thank Star Campus for the last week's Spotlight titled 'Exam Boot Camp' by Apurba Jahangir. I could totally relate to the article as I was going through it. The article portrayed some facts which are very much a reality for every Bangladeshi student. Frankly speaking, I always look for reading articles on important subjects such as the quality of education and career planning for the students. Articles like these can serve as guidelines to the readers. I would like to see more of such articles in Star Campus in future.

Have A Little “Me Time”!

As the clock of our daily life keeps ticking we tend to get busy with doing what we have to do, leaving no space for a little "me time". We hardly have a time to do things we love because of our hectic daily routine. Socialising, sleeping, going to movies or just surfing the net is not quality "me time", rather “me time” should be only for you. Keep the time for something you always wanted to do but never did. Let it be visiting a place alone, going to a food court alone, painting, exercising, meditation and things as such which did not make it to the outside of your head. A little "me time" helps us get more focussed and more conscious about own selves. Take a time off from the buzz around you and feel the touch of silence and solitude.

Keeping the Legacy Alive
The other day, I was walking towards the Public Library from Shahbagh intersection, when suddenly I felt someone was drawing me back holding my shit's collar! As I turned to see who it was, a young woman, asked me to give her ten taka. At first, I denied. But eventually, I had to pay her as she threatened me of bringing out a snake from a box she was carrying. She was a member of the Bede tribe. Nowadays it has become a common scenario in different areas of Dhaka city. Previously, they used to earn their livelihoods with snake charming and selling medicines, but now these people have hardly any means to earn their living except from extorting people for money with snakes they catch from different places. I think, both government and people need to come forward to save this unique tribe from possible extinction and to keep their wonderful culture alive.

The Menace of Session Jam
Every year, thousands of students are getting admitted into different colleges under National University after passing the HSC exams. These freshers usually have a common dream of having a degree within a predetermined time and getting a job. Sometimes, it takes almost two additional years to complete a four year long honours programme. This delay sometimes smashes dreams of many students who are from a middle class or underprivileged family. As a result, half of the admitted students are dropped out. However, National University is the largest university in our country in terms of number of students. Therefore, any wastage of time due to the session jam results in the damage of national merit and wealth. We hope our students be relieved from the curse of session jam as early as possible.
