Fresher's Reception Programme Held at DIIT

On Monday, February 4, 2013, the orientation programme of the fresh students of DIIT was held at DIU Auditorium. In a pleasurable environment and in the presence of guardians the new students were given the reception. Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman, Executive Chairman, Power and Participation Research Centre (PPRC) and Ex-Advisor, Caretaker Government of Bangladesh was present at the chief guest. Mr Md Sabur Khan, President, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and the Chairman of Daffodil Group and Professor Dr M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University were present as special guests of the programme.

The programme was chaired by Mr Mohammad Nuruzzaman, the Executive Director of Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT). Among others Mr Rathindra Nath Das, Director of DIIT and Mr Shamsuddin Ahammad, Deputy Academic Director of DIIT were also present at the programme.

Addressing as the chief guest, Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman said, Information Technology is now a part and parcel of our lives. He urged the freshers to acquire and utilise the institutional skills and experience of Daffodil Institute of IT. He also said that IT based education achieved from DIIT can contribute a lot in forming Digital Bangladesh. He urged the students to uphold the spirit of morality, social values and ethics in character besides education. He also said “Our youth bears immense prosperity and are committed to face the challenges of global job market through ICT”.

The Director of DIIT Mr Rathindra Nath Das suggested everyone to give importance to moral education. He also described the importance of international standard education.
